This Friday (9) in your ANBA Bulletin: The Economic Meeting Brazil-United Arab Emirates takes place next Thursday (15) in Brasília. Registration is open for companies interested in participating. The event will feature debates, networking and the Arab country’s minister of state for International Cooperation, Reem Al Hashemi. On June 12, the Mahmoud Darwish Museum in Ramallah will host the screening of a video documentary on the visit of Brazilian emperor Dom Pedro II to Palestina. And the IMF expects the economies of the Middle East and North Africa to grow by 2.2% this year according to the IMF, with Djibouti, Egypt and Qatar pushing up the growth.

Saudi Arabia’s purchases of Brazilian poultry up 19%

Saudi Arabia was one of the countries that stood out as leading destinations for Brazilian poultry from January to May this year. A Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA) survey pointed out that the Saudis bought 148,100 tonnes of the product, up 19.4% over the same period in 2022.

The Algiers International Fair (FIA-2023) takes place from June 19 to 24 at the Palais des Expositions in Algeria’s capital city. FIA is the largest multisectoral trade show in the North African country. The Embassy of Brazil in Algiers is organizing the participation of Brazilian companies in the 54th edition of the event.

Palestinian museum to screen film on Dom Pedro II’s visit

An account of the past contrasts with contemporary footage in the documentary that’ll be screened at the Mahmoud Darwish Museum in Ramallah, Palestine. The short film mixes pictures and an account of the time Brazilian emperor Dom Pedro II visited the Arab country and footage depicting how the same sites are now. The screening of the film on Palestinian soil will be on June 12 and also feature a photo exhibition on the trip of the Brazilian monarch.

Registration open for Brazil-UAE Meeting in Brasília

Registration is open for companies interested in participating in the Brazil-United Arab Emirates Meeting to take place next Thursday (15) at 10 am at the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) in Brasília. The event will feature the UAE’s International Cooperation minister of state Reem Bint Ebrahim Al Hashim, who’s in Brazil leading a delegation from her country.

Egypt holds Africa health business show

This Tuesday (6), in Egypt, the 2nd Africa Health Exhibition and Conference’s (Africa Health ExCon) activities in Cairo were opened to boost business in the health sector. Middle East and North Africa to see slow growth

The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region started 2023 by growing slowly but surely and is expected to end the year seeing a 2.2% growth in its gross domestic product (GDP), according to a forecast released Tuesday (6) by the World Bank. For 2024 the financial institution expects a 3.3% in the region.

The president of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), Osmar Chohfi, had appointments in Brasília on Monday and Tuesday (June 5 and 6) accompanied by the organization’s secretary-general & CEO, Tamer Mansour, and Institutional Relations director, Fernanda Baltazar. They met with the president of the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), Jorge Viana, the 19 Arab ambassadors to Brazil, and the Brazil-Arab Countries Parliamentary Group.

World Bank improves its growth projection for Brazil

In a situation it dubbed a “global economic resilience,” the World Bank raised its forecast for Brazil’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth from 0.8% to 1.2% in 2023 as per the Global Economic Prospects report released on Tuesday (6) by the financial institution.
