UAE becomes leading destination of poultry from Brazil
This Monday (14) in your ANBA Bulletin: In February, the United Arab Emirates took the lead from China as the top importer of poultry products from Brazil. The Arab country stepped up by 89.9% its purchases of poultry from Brazil year on year. Leaders of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ANBA) and Arab ambassadors met last week with Agriculture minister Tereza Cristina to discuss the supply of fertilizers to Brazil. And Egypt banned exports of five staple foods to curb the domestic price rises and ensure the supply during the religious period of Ramadan.

Egypt bans exports of five staple products

Egypt has restricted exports of five essential products to control rising prices and guarantee food supplies during Ramadan, which will start in April. Egypt’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce issued resolution 141, halting the export of wheat, lentils, pasta, broad beans, and flour. The measure is valid for three months and came into effect on Thursday (10).

Palestine to bounce back to pre-pandemic GDP only in 2023

 | Palestine’s economy is recovering from the recession ushered in by the pandemic in 2020; however, it is expected to return to the pre-COVID-19 levels by the end of 2023 only. So says a report by the technical team of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) who visited the country between late February and early March to assess the situation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Infrastructure the focus of Somalia towards economic growth

Somalia has set goals to improve the country’s infrastructure in sectors such as agriculture and energy. Its goals are displayed in the African country’s pavilion in Expo 2020 Dubai. The world exhibition takes place in the United Arab Emirates and runs until the end of this month. Somalia, which is also an Arab country, has a space in the Opportunity District.

Brazilian minister, Arab Chamber discussed fertilizers

UAE: Leading importer of poultry from Brazil

The United Arab Emirates took in February for the first time the lead in poultry imports from Brazil, industry association ABPA reported. The Gulf country surpassed China, which had been the leading poultry buyer until then. The UAE acquired 42,800 tonnes in poultry, up 89.9% year on year.

Brazil’s Embraer revenue grew in 2021

Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer ended 2021 with net revenue of BRL 22.7 billion (about USD 4.53 billion at the current rate), a 15% increase over 2020. The company delivered a total of 141 jets: 48 commercial aircraft and 93 executive jets (62 light and 31 medium). Data were released on Wednesday (9) night by the company.

Arab Chamber delegation visited Syria pavilion at Expo

A delegation from the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) in Dubai visited the Syria pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai on Thursday (10). The head of the ABCC international office in Dubai, Rafael Solimeo, and international business executive Noury Dweidary took Brazilian businesspeople to the Syrian pavilion and were welcomed by chief commissioner Ghassan Abbas.
