This Monday (23) in your ANBA Bulletin: Arab countries have implemented measures to stop the spread of coronavirus. Emirates has suspended part of its passenger flights but maintains cargo operations. Brazil has taken important steps regarding exports, including decreeing that zoosanitary certification should be regarded as an essential activity. And the Arab Chamber has changed its work hours to join the international efforts to fight coronavirus, adopting remote work and other measures. The Chamber remembers the Arab Community Day in Brazil on March 25 with an online campaign that started last Sunday. And an Egyptian artist was invited by the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Sul (Ifsul) to be part of the Contemporary Arts Dialogue Project. The organization seeks out support for the travel, scheduled for July, but it may be postponed due to coronavirus.

São Paulo – The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce said this Friday (20) that it’s putting in place measures to prevent contagion from coronavirus (COVID-19). In line with recommendations from the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO), as of Monday (23) all personnel will be working remotely, except some of the staff in the Certification Department, whose work hours will change.

Emirates maintains cargo operations, suspends some flights

São Paulo – Emirates airline has adapting operations since the new coronavirus pandemic began. The company decided to suspend most passenger operations by March 25. Cargo operations will be maintained. dnata, the airport services provider that is part of the Emirates group, has significantly reduced operations, including temporary closure of operations at some international locations where demand is low.

Brazil defines zoosanitary certification as essential

São Paulo – Brazil’s government reported last weekend that it has defined as essential public services and activities related to zoosanitary, phytosanitary, plant pest and animal disease prevention, control and eradication, as well as international zoosanitary certification.

Arab Community Day to be remembered online

São Paulo – The Arab Community Day in Brazil in March 25 will be remembered in a different way this year. Due to coronavirus and the need it imposed to restrict the circulation and gathering of people, the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce will hold an online campaign to mark the day instead of the previously scheduled activity, which was an Arab handicraft and popular art exhibition.

São Paulo – Several Arab countries have either restricted access or completely shut down their borders over the past few days to keep the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) at bay, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Iraq, Yemen, Libya, Oman, Sudan, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Morocco, Algeria and Lebanon, news outlets from across the region and the World Health Organization (WHO) have reported.

Egyptian artist invited for project in South Brazil

São Paulo – The Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Sul (Ifsul) in Camaquã plans on bringing foreign artists, including an Egyptian, to Brazil. The artists will participate in Projeto Diálogos com a Arte Contemporânea (Contemporary Art Dialogues Project), where they present their view on their work and production to the students. Sculptor Ali Moustafa is the guest from Egypt.
