This Thursday (28) in your ANBA Bulletin: Olivier Anquier is developing new ventures and projects of Brazilian cuisine in Saudi Arabia. The French Brazilian chef is designing two enterprises in the Arab country in partnership with local businesspeople. There are also plans for a TV show. Al Baraka, an online store created to sell products with symbols of Palestine in Brazil, is the brainchild of a young entrepreneur from the city of Pelotas, state of Rio Grande do Sul. And Brazilian Rumo and Arab DP World will build a terminal at Port of Santos for grains and fertilizers.

Women seek out business in Saudi Arabia

Doing business in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states is a growing opportunity that will be explored by a delegation of Brazilian women. How to invest and tap into these markets was the topic of the “WAHI Committee Seminar – Saudi Arabia Mission” held on Tuesday (26) in São Paulo in the headquarters of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC). The institution will take a women’s delegation to the Gulf state in May.

Entrepreneur launches Palestinian brand in Brazil

A young entrepreneur from Pelotas, Brazil, has developed a business to nourish the Brazilian support to the Palestinian cause. Ali Mahmoud Yousef Amer, 17, established in January Al Baraka, an online store that sells products with symbols from the Arab country in Brazil. Part of the revenue goes to civilians caught up in the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

Rumo, DP World announce terminal at Santos Port

Brazil’s largest private freight railroad operator Rumo and UAE port through state-run DP World will build a new port terminal for grains and fertilizers at the Port of Santos, Brazil. Rumo has committed an estimated investment of USD 500 million (BRL 2.5 billion) towards the project, whose construction is expected to span 30 months, pending the fulfillment of precedent conditions inherent to this type of transaction.

Chef Olivier Anquier develops projects for KSA

French Brazilian chef Olivier Anquier is taking the concept of Brazil’s cuisine to Saudi Arabia. “We’ll build a village with a bakery serving Brazilian coffee, an ice cream parlor, and a playground for kids – tentatively named Oliver’s Village. I want to make something different there, so I won’t take my restaurant. I want to build a new concept with Brazilian representation and all-Brazilian ingredients,” he told ANBA.

Livestreams to address Arab immigration in Brazil

Scholars and experts in the universe of Arab immigration in Brazil will address their research, life stories, and reflections on livestreams over the week. The program is held by Marcia Dib, who holds a master’s degree in Arab culture, and historian Marcia Valdivia on Dib's Instagram page on the occasion of Brazilian Arab Community Day celebrated on Monday (25).
