In Egypt, Brazilian minister discussed food security

This Thursday (12) in your ANBA Bulletin: Meetings on food security between Egyptian executives and the Brazilian delegation visiting the Arab country. Brazil sells food to Egypt, and the Arab country exports fertilizers to Brazil.

The Brazilian Minister of Agriculture, Marcos Montes, and the mission delegation were received on Tuesday by Egypt's Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Moustafa El Sayeed, and Minister of Supply, Ali El Moselhi. In other appointments, Montes spoke with Egyptian authorities on facilitating imports to increase the supply of Brazilian food to the local market and thus contain the price hike.

Brazil's Embrapa signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Egypt's Agricultural Research Center for cooperation in areas such as climate change and water management.

Brazil will collaborate with Egypt in agricultural research and knowledge exchange on low-carbon agriculture to face climate change. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed this Tuesday (10), in Cairo, between the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) and Egypt’s Agricultural Research Center (ARC).
