Construction activity recovering in Saudi market

This Monday (17) in your ANBA Bulletin: The surge in building material prices indicates the construction activity is recovering. A relevant number of units will be handed over in major cities of Saudi Arabia by the end of the year.

Brazil have joined Dubai’s World Logistics Passport. Viracorpos International Airport and DP World Santos terminal joined the initiative by the United Arab Emirates, which aims to widen commercial opportunities between emerging markets and facilitate access to the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.

And Arabic teacher Karen Hayek launched a YouTube channel last week to talk to Brazilians about her home country’s culture.

Brazil joins Dubai’s World Logistics Passport

Brazilian airports and ports are joining the World Logistics Passport (WLP), an initiative by the government of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The WLP intends to expand commercial opportunities between emerging markets (South-South) and facilitate the access of Brazilian products to markets in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. So far, the Viracopos International Airport (pictured above) in Campinas (State of São Paulo) and the DP World terminal in the Port of Santos (São Paulo) have joined. DP World Santos is a company of the DP World Group (Dubai Ports World).

Arabic teacher launches channel on Lebanese culture

Lebanese Brazilian Arabic teacher Karen Hayek launched on Thursday, May 13, the debut video in her YouTube channel Cultura Libanesa [Lebanese Culture]. “The channel is entirely focused on Lebanese and their descendants and Arab descendants in general. The main goal is spreading the culture, the language, the customs and interviewing important figures that most people don’t even know are descendants, thus promoting the community,” Hayek told ANBA.

A private clinic in Casablanca, Morocco, was responsible for a delivery that has caught the world’s attention as a woman gave birth to nonuplets. Petrobras reports USD 227 million 1Q net income

Despite the worsening of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, the Brazilian oil company Petrobras obtained a net profit of BRL 1.2 billion (equivalent to USD 227 million) in the first quarter of 2021. According to the company’s president, Joaquim Silva e Luna (pictured above), “Petrobras presented a solid result. During this period, we overcame the challenges of this complex scenario, with security, progressive actions, and respect for the environment, shareholders, and society in general, generating significant value for the company,” he said.
