Read at this Monday (20) ANBA Bulletin that Brazil’s vice-president Hamilton Mourão was welcomed by the president of Lebanon, Michel Aoun, in Beirut. Mourão pledged to support the Arab country in entering into a free trade agreement with the Mercosur. Talks for this agreement have been underway since 2014 and Lebanon has been pressuring for its completion. Around two weeks ago, for example, Lebanon’s Foreign Trade minister Hassan Mourad visited Brazil to go over it again with local authorities, including the vice-president himself.
Mourão also paid a visit to a Brazilian Navy frigate (pictured) that leads the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
Learn also that Yahsat, a telecom company from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, has started operating this Monday in two more Brazilian states: Bahia and Rio Grande do Sul. With this, there are only three states left to reach its target of 21 Brazilian states by the end of 2019. The company is part of Mubalada holding and offers Internet services via satellite.
Also from this Monday on, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is hosting the photo exhibit Faces do Refúgio (Faces of Asylum), which comprises 52 photos taken around the world whose backdrop is forced displacements. There will also be film screenings.
