Sustainability gains ground in Dubai fashion
This Thursday (26) in your ANBA Bulletin: The business history of Ethical Elements, from the United Arab Emirates. Founded by three female entrepreneurs, the company works on supplying sustainable materials to fashion brands in the Gulf countries. In an interview with reporter Thais Sousa, one of the partners expressed eagerness to work with ethical companies in Brazil.
The global foodstuffs market is affected by the Russian war. Brazil reduced import taxes on over 6,000 products attempting to lower prices. An IMF report shows that the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), major food importers, are strongly impacted by the surge in commodity prices.

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced last week the list of the selected match officials for the World Cup Qatar to start in November. Among the selected 36 referees and 69 assistant referees, for the first time in the history of the tournament three women referees and three women assistant referees were appointed. They include Brazil’s assistant referee Neusa Back. Selected match officials represent the highest level of refereeing worldwide.

The United Arab Emirates-based company Al Foah will exhibit its date brand Date Crown in the trade show Natural Tech that will take place from June 8 to 11 at Parque Anhembi in São Paulo. The show where the Arab brand will have a stand is focused on healthy eating, supplements, natural products, and health.

The government of Egypt will draft cooperation proposals with the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) to be signed during the Economic Forum Brazil & Arab Countries, to take place at the Renaissance Hotel, in the capital city of São Paulo, on July 4, held by the entity. The agreement was outlined during a meeting between the Egyptian prime minister, Moustafa Madbouly, with ABCC heads last weekend in Cairo, the capital city of Egypt.

Brazil is seeking to establish a strategic partnership with Egypt to strengthen the trade between the two countries, as well as benefiting from the free trade agreement between Mercosur and the Arab country. So said Brazil’s special secretary for Strategic Affairs, Flávio Rocha, in a seminar held by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) on Sunday (22) in Cairo, as part of the Brazilian official mission to Egypt.
