This Monday (3) in your ANBA Bulletin: The pandemic has prompted changes on how Arabs use social media. A survey developed by two researchers, in partnership with the New Media Academy in Dubai, points out that users in Morocco, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are more prone to researching brands via social media than the global average. The survey also showed that the usage of social media has increased during the pandemic. Brazilian footwear brand Piccadilly is present in Arab countries. The company exports to 12 Arab countries and has 14 dedicated stores in Kuwait and three in Saudi Arabia. It has plans on opening outlets in the UAE. And registration is open for webinar on the impact of the vaccination in the resumption of economic activities in the Arab countries. The online event will take place next Wednesday, 5, at 9 am (BRT). Expert Helmi Hamdi will speak.

The impacts of the COVID-19 vaccination on the economic recovery of the Arab countries will be topic of an online conference that the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) will host on Wednesday, 5, from 9 to 11 am (BRT). “Since the economy of the Arab countries starts to show some encouraging signs, we decided to host this webinar to show how the mass vaccination is impacting the Arab markets and what can be expected from the rest of the year,” ABCC secretary-general & CEO Tamer Mansour explains.

The Arabian Gulf relies on imports of a wide array of goods, and the products it sources from Brazil run the gamut from food to building materials. Rio de Janeiro’s ALM Brazil Trading Company recently supplied light fixtures by a Rio-based designer to Qatar, and found that selling to the region can be a great business opportunity.
