Arab companies to exhibit at APAS Show
This Thursday (5) in your ANBA Bulletin: Arab businesspeople are coming to exhibit in food and beverage fair APAS Show to be held in São Paulo from May 16 to 19. A group of 26 companies from Jordan, Egypt, United Arab Emirates and Tunisia will showcase their products at the exhibition in a stand organized by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC). The delegations will also attend B2B meetings and seminars with the delegations. Dates by the UAE’s Date Crown are being sold in Brazil’s Carrefour stores. This is expected to boost the Brazilian consumption of the fruit. Brazilian exports to the Arab market have been influenced by rising commodity prices. And Brazilian company JBS has bought two plants in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Brazilian exports to the 22 countries in the League of Arab States in the first quarter recorded a 33.58% growth, reaching USD 3.86 billion, according to a report by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC). Production of stone fruits is expected to rise in Tunisia. The Arab country is estimated to produce 295,000 tonnes in 2022, against 285,000 tonnes the previous year, up 3.5%. The increase is due to favorable climate conditions, according to data from the Interprofessional Fruit Grouping (GIFruits) received by Tunisia’s state news agency TAP.

Performance of Brazilian small industry grows

The first quarter of 2022 was positive for micro and small industries, reveals a survey by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) released on Monday (2). The Small Industry Outlook indicates an improvement in the Performance Index, which recorded the best average (45.5 points) in Q1 since 2012. In the first quarter of 2021, the index stood at 43.9 points.
