What’s happening at COP27 in Egypt
This Thursday (10) in your ANBA Bulletin: The 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) started last Sunday in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. Brazil and Arab countries have participated in these first days of debates. Arab-funded Banco ABC Brazil is controlled by Bahrain-based Arab Banking Corporation and operates primarily with medium- and large-sized enterprises in Brazil. Consultant, entrepreneur and former Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) president Rubens Hannun says that innovations, investments in local food production and global events are creating a booming labor market in the Arab region.

As part of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP27) taking place in Sharm El Sheikh, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre launched the first phase of a project to build a large green hydrogen plant in Ain Soukhna, with a production capacity of 100 megawatts.

Brazilian participation stood out at the Saudi International Halal Expo, which took place from Monday (7) to Wednesday (9) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with six companies and two halal certifiers from Brazil. The show had its first edition this year, and Brazil stood out as a halal supplier. Halal goods are produced according to the guidelines of the Islamic religion.

Arab-controlled Banco ABC Brasil celebrated its 15th anniversary in Brazil in late October and increased its assets by eleven-fold and its net profit by twelve-fold since it made its initial public offering (IPO), or stock launch, in the Brazilian stock market in 2007. The financial institution is controlled by the Arab Banking Corporation, based in Manama, Bahrain, an Arab state in the Gulf.

Egyptian president Abdel Fattah Al Sisi said at the United Nations Climate Summit (UNFCCC COP27) this Monday (7) in Sharm El Sheikh this is the time to act for the implementation of the commitments signed in previous editions of the COP, such as the Paris Agreement. The Egyptian leader said the world is waiting for swift implementation in favor of the climate, with concrete actions to reduce emissions and financing guarantees for developing countries, which today are most affected by climate change’s consequences.
