This Monday (26) in your ANBA Bulletin: an exclusive interview with the incoming ambassador of Brazil to Khartoum, Sudan (pictured above), Patrícia Maria Oliveira Lima. She will take office soon and intends to explore business and cooperation opportunities. “There are niches of trade opportunities that are worth being explored,” she said while visiting the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in São Paulo. The diplomat knows full well what she's talking about, since she has served a two-year term as minister-cousellor for the Embassy of Brazil in Khartoum. “I really like the country, it is like coming back home,” she said. Agribusiness and professional training are some of the fields in which possibilities are available in trade and cooperation, according to Lima.
December will see the Lente Cultural collective host three lectures in São Paulo on Arab-related subjects. Palestine – The Endless Saga, with University of São Paulo (USP) professor Arlene Clemesha; and the Nefertiti Bust-Portrait and The Veil and the Visibility Conflict, with USP professor Plinio Freire Gomes. The first lecture is backed by the Arab Chamber. Registrations are open.
And on Tuesday (27), the Brazil-Lebanon Cultural Center in Beirut will host culinary and musical activities from Bahia, as part of the Discovering Brazil: Bahia program.
