Tradeling firm saw exponential growth in 2021

Dubai-based digital company Tradeling has experienced a 25-fold increase in the volume of goods and a 34-fold growth in its customer base in 2021. The company is focused on B2B transactions in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and wants to bring more products from Brazil to the region.

Domestic and imported strawberries supply Brazil

Brazil is a strawberry producer but an importer, too, particularly of frozen strawberries for industrial applications. According to figures from the Ministry of Economy, year to date through August Brazil’s top supplier of frozen strawberries was Egypt, which shipped 1.47 tonnes. From January through August 2020, Brazil purchased 1.03 tonnes from Egypt, up from 288 tonnes a year before. This makes the Arab country Brazil’s top strawberry supplier.

DP World presents future of transport at Expo 2020 Dubai

Futuristic, efficient, and sustainable transport is showcased in the DP World pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. Praised as the most significant innovation in the mobility industry since the inception of air travel, DP World Cargospeed is a partnership between DP World and Virgin Hyperloop that will enable fast, sustainable, and efficient delivery of cargo around the world through ‘pods’ or capsules moved by an engine inside a vacuum tube. The innovation is displayed right at the external area of the pavilion, with a replica of a 10-meter blue capsule.

Arab Brazilian Chamber, Dubai Chamber strengthen relations

To strengthen ties between the entities, Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) president Osmar Chohfi visited the headquarters of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce on Sunday afternoon (10). The ambassador was welcomed by the CEO & president of the organization, Hamad Buamim. Chohfi restated the ABCC’s desire to count on the support of the Dubai Chamber. “You can count on us and our services – we’re brothers, after all,” he said.

Bahrain’s new ambassador to Brazil presents credentials

The president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, received this Friday (8) the new ambassador of Bahrain to the country, Bader Abbas Hasan Ahmed Alhelaibi, in a ceremony for the presentation of his credentials. Alhelaibi already served in Brazil as chargé d’affaires of Bahrain’s diplomatic mission in Brasília and took over as ambassador. At the ceremony, new ambassadors from other countries also presented their credentials.

Brazil’s Paraná wants to deepen ties with Arab countries

The state of Paraná in the South of Brazil wants to strengthen trade ties with the Arab countries. To this end, the government has sent a delegation to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, led by governor Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior (PSD). Invest Paraná director president José Eduardo Bekin and industry group FIEP chairman Carlos Valter met on Saturday (9) with representatives of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) to discuss trade opportunities between the state and the Arab countries.

Brazil relaxes restrictions for entry of foreigners

The Brazilian government has relaxed the requirements for the entry by air for foreign travelers. In the Federal Gazette published on Tuesday (5), Brazil took a further step in the relaxation of restrictions on the entry of foreigners by air to travelers from the United Kingdom, India, and South Africa. The countries had identified specific cases of variants that are now found in Brazil as well.

UAE increase beef imports from Brazil

The United Arab Emirates increased Brazilian beef purchases from January to September this year by 14% compared to the same months in 2020, according to data released this week by the Brazilian Meat Packers Association (Abrafrigo). The country imported 33,900 tonnes and was the sixth major destination for the Brazilian product abroad in the period.

UAE announces drive to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050

The United Arab Emirates announced a national plan to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, making it the first Middle East and North Africa (MENA) nation to do so. The UAE Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative was announced on Thursday, state news agency WAM reported.
