This Thursday (14) in your ANBA Bulletin: Our reporter Bruna Garcia did a tour in one of the world’s most famous hotels, Dubai’s Burj Al Arab. The enterprise will open for tourist visits on Friday (15), and the ANBA journalist did the tour beforehand. She talks about the architectural details and the charms of the great hotel, from gold plates to deluxe two-story suites. Engineer Sherif El Sayad, chairperson of the Export Council for Engineering Industries in Egypt, gave an interview to ANBA’s Cairo-based journalist Omar Assi. El Sayad said that his country’s engineering are remarkably well positioned in European and Gulf markets and the industry seeks to expand, including to Mercosur. And the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) is participating in several activities in Dubai, where the world exhibition Expo 2020 is taking place. Brazil’s state of Paraná intends to boost Muslim-friendly tourism, and to do so, the city of Foz do Iguaçu signed an agreement with the ABCC and Cdial Halal certifier in the emirate.

The iconic Burj Al Arab hotel is already a symbol of Dubai. Those who travel to the emirate seek to pass by the sail-shaped hotel to take photos from a distance, whether from the beach or the bridge that connects the building to the mainland. Until today, typically, only those who stayed for at least one night could get to know the interior of the Tower of the Arabs. But that will change from this Friday, October 15, when the Inside Burj Al Arab tour will be launched, which will allow tourists to quench their curiosity about the hotel considered the most luxurious in the world.

Shipping costs hamper access to Mercosur for Egypt

Sherif El Sayad, chairman of the Export Council for Engineering Industries in Egypt, said that engineering products of the country are remarkably well placed in European and Gulf markets and that the industry is looking to expand to Africa, as well as benefiting from the free trade agreement between Egypt and Mercosur countries. Egypt has had a free trade agreement with the South American bloc since 2017.

Motorcycle exports from Brazil up 34.5%

Brazil exported 4,872 motorcycles in September, the Brazilian Association of Motorcycle, Autocycle, Scooter and Bicycle Manufacturers (Abraciclo) reported on Wednesday (13). Foreign sales were up 34.5% from a year ago, despite a month-on-month 13.1% decrease. Year to date, 42,765 motorcycles were exported, up 79.8%.

Brazil’s Paraná plans on boosting halal-certified tourism

The Brazilian state of Paraná plans on boosting Muslim-friendly tourism after signing a memorandum of understanding with the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), Cdial Halal certifier and the city of Foz do Iguaçu. The document intends to encourage the training of tourist establishments of the city in halal services in order to turn it into an attractive spot for Arabs and one of the first cities in Brazil to have services for this niche.

First Libya’s coffee show featured coffees from Brazil

The first exhibition focused on specialty coffees to be held in Libya brought together 10,000 visitors. Libya Coffee Expo (Coffeex) took place in the first week of October, opening on the International Coffee Day established by the International Coffee Organization (ICO).

Arab Chamber pens MoUs with Invest Paraná, FIEP, Itaipu

The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) signed three memorandums of understanding (MoU) in the opening of business seminar Paraná Business Experience on Tuesday (12) morning in the Crowne Plaza Festival City Hotel in Dubai. The MoUs were signed with Invest Paraná, Paraná State Industry Federation (FIEP) and Itaipu Technological Park (ITP). Paraná governor Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior (PSD) attended the event and participated in the signing ceremony.

Orascom sells assets in Brazil

Orascom Investment Holding, a company headquartered in Egypt, announced it sold assets in Brazil that yielded USD 77.6 million, equivalent to about EGP 1.211 billion. In a press release, the company announced on Monday (11) the conclusion of the sale process of the estates belonging to its subsidiaries, located in the Pátio Victor Malzoni Building, in the city of São Paulo, after having fulfilled the previous conditions of the sales contract.

Foreign Trade minister receives Arab Chamber in Dubai

The minister of Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates, Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, received Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) heads this Monday (11) for a meeting in Dubai. The organization’s president, Osmar Chohfi, and the secretary-general, Tamer Mansour, spoke about business opportunities between the countries and invited the minister to participate in the Brazil-Arab Countries Economic Forum, to be held in July next year in São Paulo when the entity will reach 70 years of foundation.

Arab Chamber strengthens cooperation with UAE chambers

The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce’s (ABCC) mission in Dubai started an agenda of visits to chambers of commerce in different emirates to strengthen the organization’s work to bring the entire Arab country closer together. One of the destinations was the emirate of Sharjah. The president of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, received the president of the ABCC, ambassador Osmar Chohfi, and the organization’s secretary-general, Tamer Mansour, for a conversation at the institution’s headquarters, in the emirate of Sharjah.
