This Thursday (15) in your ANBA Bulletin: Brazil's president Jair Bolsonaro has confirmed that he will join the opening of the Economic Forum Brazil & Arab countries, which the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce will host online starting next Monday (19). Also featured will be vice president Hamilton Mourão and ministers Tereza Cristina, Ernesto Araújo and Marcos Pontes. Authorities from Arab countries will also participate, alongside top-tier executives, experts and delegates from organizations in both regions at hand.
The Minas Gerais, Brazil-based company Palmilhado Boots is in talks to start shipping its footwear items to Arab countries. The company has three different brands – for military boots, safety and casual footwear –, and promising discussions are underway in Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
The UAE is the best-recovering Arab economy amid the Covid-19 crisis. Also featured in ANBA is an assessment from Lebanon's consul general to Rio de Janeiro regarding a fundraising campaign. The consul is planning new steps to come.

Brazilian footwear industry Palmilhado Boots is working to break into the Arab market and has negotiated sales with Saudi Arabia and Egypt. The company has hired an Arab professional, Eduardo Salloum (pictured above) from Syria, to start the export project and put its footwear in the Arab countries.

The COVID Economic Recovery Index from the Horizon Research Group has shown that the United Arab Emirates are the best-recovering Arab economy. The index rated 122 countries overall, and the Gulf nation ranked 37th.

Brazil’s president Jair Bolsonaro will speak during the Economic Forum Brazil & Arab Countries, which the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) will host online from October 19 to 22. Vice president Hamilton Mourão will speak during the closing ceremony, and three Brazilian ministers will participate in the event’s panels.

Coffee exports from Brazil hit an all-time high in September at 3.8 million bags shipped. The number includes green, soluble, and roast and ground coffee. Shipped volume was 8.6% higher than in September 2019, and the biggest amount ever shipped in a September.

The Brazilian Ministry of Environment is expected to publish this Thursday (15) a government request for proposals from private sector players interested in managing the national parks of Aparados da Serra and Serra Geral, along the Rio Grande do Sul-Santa Catarina state border.
