This Friday (23) in your ANBA Bulletin: The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) hosted the Economic Forum Brazil & Arab Countries from last Monday (19) to Thursday (22). The event got some 10,000 viewers from 61 different countries, according to the organization. In addition to discussion panels, it featured an exhibition of companies and brands from Brazil and the Arab countries in a 3D environment. The ABCC signed some agreements during the forum, authorities from Brazil and the Arab countries participated, and specialists discussed topics such as food security, the new order in international business, and ESG. “I am certain that relations between Brazil and the Arab world are at their all-time best right now,” president Jair Bolsonaro said in the opening of the event. The ABCC announced the digital version of the Arab House, presented the Ellos Blockchain platform, signed an agreement to spread the image of Brazilian-made halal goods as the best in the world, joined the UN Global Compact, as well as other agreements. Brazil & Arab Countries Forum got viewed in 61 countries

 | The Economic Forum Brazil & Arab Countries had viewers in all five continents. Rubens Hannun (pictured above), the president of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), which hosted the event, mentioned the viewership in his closing address. “We have managed to reach all five continents, and we are being watched by [people in] 61 different countries,” he said. The forum ran from October 19 to 22.

Brazilian-Arab relations at their best ever, says Bolsonaro

 | Brazil’s president Jair Bolsonaro said the country’s relations with the Arab countries have never been better. He joined foreign minister Ernesto Araújo and the minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, for the opening of the Economic Forum Brazil & Arab Countries, alongside Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) president Rubens Hannun, Arab League secretary-general Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and other Arab authorities.

 | “The statistics reveal how Brazil’s output is important to global food security,” said the UAE minister of State for Food Security Mariam bint Mohammed Al Mheiri (pictured above), in mentioning that Brazil accounted for almost 10% of her country’s total imports in H1 2019.  | The next phase of the global economy, which will have its fluctuations, will bring opportunities for the emerging economies to increase their presence in the world stage, Arab League secretary-general Ahmed Aboul Gheit said in the opening of the Economic Forum Brazil & Arab Countries hosted by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) in partnership with the Arab League and the Union of Arab Chambers. The online event started on Monday (22) and will run until Thursday (22).

Companies across the globe invest in ESG practices

In 2015, when ESG didn’t arouse so much interest from investors, BRF was the first Brazilian company to raise funds abroad by issuing green bonds. “ESG strategies and sustainability are built into our culture,” BRF Global CEO Lorival Nogueira Luz said during a CEO talk in the Economic Forum Brazil & Arab Countries hosted by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC).

Digital version of Arab House announced

 | The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) announced this Thursday (22) that it will create the Arab House, an initially virtual space devoted to Arab culture and immigration. The project will eventually have brick-and-mortar facilities, ABCC president Rubens Hannun and cultural director Silvia Antibas said.

Arab Chamber joins UN Global Compact

 | The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) signed a membership agreement with the United Nations Global Compact on Thursday morning (22), during the last day of the Economic Forum Brazil & Arab Countries. The president and the manager of Institutional Relations of the Arab Chamber, Rubens Hannun and Fernanda Baltazar, attended the conference with the virtual presence of the United Nations Global Compact secretary-general in Brazil, Carlo Pereira.

Relations with Arab countries to become more strategic: FM

 | Brazil’s minister of Foreign Affairs Ernesto Araújo was first to speak on the second day of the Economic Forum Brazil & Arab Countries. Café & networking area enables integration in online forum

 | The exhibition area of the Economic Forum Brazil & Arab Countries includes a café featuring several rooms where exhibitors and visitors can get interact using intermittent Zoom meetings. That’s where most of the interfacing is taking place. The forum is running from Monday (19) to Thursday (22), hosted by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) in partnership with the Union of Arab Chambers and the Arab League. Also featured are several panels.

Arab Chamber announces Halal Brazil project

 | The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) presented on Wednesday (21) the “Halal Brasil” project, which aims to spread and establish the image of Brazilian-made halal goods as the best in the world. The idea was announced on the third day of the Economic Forum Brazil & Arab Countries, being hosted online by the ABCC in partnership with the Union of Arab Chambers and the Arab League. Halal products are those manufactured according to Islamic precepts.

Ellos Blockchain aims to revolutionize business with Arabs

 | A system aimed at revolutionizing business transactions between Brazil and the Arab countries, Ellos Blockchain was launched on Tuesday (20) during the Economic Forum Brazil & Arab Countries. The Ellos Blockchain was developed by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) and is a chain of records of commercial, banking, trade and export transactions, ABCC Information Technology manager Marcos Bulgarelli said.

Arab Brazilian Chamber announces offices in Cairo, Riyadh

 | The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), which has had an international office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates since February 2019, has just announced it will open two new international offices, one in Cairo, Egypt and another in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The offices are part of the ABCC’s internationalization project, which started last year, and their goal is facilitating trade, fostering business internationalization, and promoting cultural interchange.
