Arab Brazilian Chamber and ApexBrasil to promote halal trade
This Monday (24) in your ANBA Bulletin: Halal do Brasil, a project created by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), will promote sales of Brazilian halal-certified foodstuffs globally. The initiative aims to add more value to these items. Egypt issued simplified custom procedures and Value Added Tax refund for guests of the COP27, a climate conference that will take place in the country in November. Brazilian brand DaMinhaCor manufactures caps for voluminous and afro hair, as well as cosmetics and other products. On a trip to Tunisia, entrepreneur Maurício Delfino saw an opportunity in the sector. The brand exports.

During his travels around the world, Maurício Delfino always got requests from the women in his family for Black hair and Black skin products. These demands made him want to create a brand focused on the Brazilian Black community: DaMinhaCor. The company’s first and leading product are swimming caps for afro and voluminous hair. The brand has already some international deals.

The 46th São Paulo International Film Festival started on Thursday (20), this year in a mostly in-person format. Over two weeks, 223 titles from 60 countries will be screened in movie theaters and outdoor cinemas in São Paulo. Ten titles can be seen on the SESC Digital platform and seven on Spcine Play, with free access. The festival runs until November 2.

Exports of toiletries, fragrances and cosmetics from Brazil climbed 13.7% from January to September this year compared to the same period last year, according to trade association Abihpec. Brazilians grossed USD 588.3 million from exports.

They will carry out the Halal do Brasil project to promote the sector at an international level.

As the countdown towards the 2022 World Cup in Qatar continues, the Group of Studies and Research on the Middle East (GEPOM) will hold an online course on the Gulf country for Brazilians. The course Qatar – History, Oil, Football and Politics is divided into two classes to take place next Monday (24) and on October 31 at 7 pm (BRT) via Zoom.
