Brazilian service in World Cup turfgrass
This Thursday (6) in your ANBA Bulletin: Brazil-based firm GreenLeaf was responsible for the turfgrass of five stadiums that will host matches of the FIFA World Cup Qatar. While providing the service, the company broke installation time records. Brazilian company Milagros manufactures incenses based on resins from Arab countries like Oman, Somalia and Sudan. The company’s founder Martinho Rocha visited the region. And the musical The Prophet premieres in São Paulo at Teatro Bravos. The unprecedented adaptation of the book by Khalil Gibran will be performed from October 8 to 16.

Martinho da Rocha (pictured above) made two major changes in his life. First, he left the research labs behind, acknowledging his own need to be on the move. Then he abandoned his career as a video producer to become an entrepreneur and found Milagros. The brand is a pioneer in the production of resin-based incenses in Brazil.

ANBA Cast, the podcast of the Brazil-Arab News Agency, aired its 100th episode on Wednesday (5), after nearly two years since its creation. The podcast focus on spreading information on the Arab countries, particularly on topics of interest for Brazilian exporters. The first episode aired in October 2020, and since then approximately four episodes a month were made available.

Five out of the eight stadiums that will be used for the Qatar World Cup, which will take place from November 20 to December 18, had a Brazilian touch. The earthwork, grass installation, grain size analysis of the sands used in construction, field maintenance, vacuum drainage, underground irrigation, laser grade, hybridization and other services were developed by Brazilian turf sports field company GreenLeaf Gramados.

One of the world’s most-read books, The Prophet by Lebanese poet Khalil Gibran was adapted into a theater play for the first time in Brazil. The philosophical musical will premiere at Teatro Bravos in São Paulo on October 8 and run until October 15, on Saturdays and Sundays at 8 pm. Tickets are on sale on Sympla. The book by Gibran turns 100 next year and has been translated into more than 100 languages.

The global landscape is slowing the economic growth in African countries as they contend with rising inflation, high food prices and compromised poverty reduction efforts, according to the World Bank’s latest Africa’s Pulse, an analysis of the regional outlook, issued on Tuesday (4). According to the financial institution, the African governments urgently need to restore macro-economic stability and protect the poor.

The second edition of the Middle East Fashion Week (MEFW) will return to Dubai from November 7 to 10 at The Agenda, in the Dubai Media City (DMC) district. The event is organized by the Middle East Fashion Council (MEFC). The first edition took place in March this year.

Brazilian cereal, legume and oilseed crop is expected to reach 261.9 million tonnes in 2022, according to September’s Systematic Survey of Agricultural Production made public on Thursday (6) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). If the forecast from IBGE proves true, this will be an all-time record, up 3.4% or 8.7 million from 2021.
