Egypt supplying garlic since Brazil ok'd imports

This Thursday (17) in your ANBA Bulletin: Egypt got cleared to export garlic to Brazil in June 2019. It has since become a major supplier of the product. Speaking with ANBA, Michael Gamal Kaddes, of Egypt's Ministry of Trade and Industry, said his country is the fourth biggest garlic producing country, with 280,000 tons harvested each year.

Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce women's committee WAHI - Women Who Inspire and the Women Inside Trade (WIT) hosted an online event this week that saw Arab and Brazilian businesswomen discuss the achievements of female executives in the Arab countries, and existing business opportunities in countries including Kuwait and Morocco.

Also featured in ANBA is a story on the Brazilian-born, Lebanese-descendant Juliana Ganan. Formerly an agricultural engineer working abroad, she switched up careers upon creating the coffee roasting microbusiness Tocaya Torradores de Café in Itajubá, Minas Gerais.

And law firm Martinelli, Freitas & Liberal Advogados Associados gave tips on how businesses should approach the General Data Protection Act set to become effective soon in Brazil. Companies doing business abroad must be aware of the legislation in other countries.
