This Thursday (2) in your ANBA Bulletin: The Brazilian government seeks to resume talks on free trade agreements between Mercosur and Arab countries. The bloc initiated discussions with nations like Morocco, Tunisia, and Lebanon, but they have not concluded. Among the Arabs, only Egypt has an agreement in force with Mercosur.
The Mission Chocolate brand launched a limited-edition camel milk chocolate bar in Brazil as part of its project to pay homage to the communities that make up the country's ethnicities, starting with the Arabs. The powdered camel milk used in the chocolate is imported from the UAE.
Arab athletes already won seven gold medals at the Tokyo Paralympics. Authorities in Brazil and the UAE aim to increase tourist flow. And Brazilian motorcycle and bicycle accessories brand Circuit has entered the Arab market.

Expo 2020 survey shows Brazilians want global cooperation

A global survey carried out by Expo 2020 Dubai revealed 90% of Brazilian respondents believe countries should work together to solve challenges such as a global pandemic, while 86% said countries that were able to cope well with the COVID-19 crisis should help others that were not.

Brazil in talks to have tourism office in the UAE

The Brazilian minister of Tourism, Gilson Machado Neto, is seeking partnerships for setting up an office for the Brazilian Agency for International Tourism Promotion (EMBRATUR) in the United Arab Emirates. The minister met this Tuesday (31) with the ambassador of the Arab country to Brazil, Saleh Alsuwaidi.

Arab countries won seven golds at Paralympics

The Arab countries won seven gold medals until this Wednesday morning (1) at the Tokyo Paralympic Games. Ten nations of the region earned medals. In addition to the golds by Tunisia, Jordan, and Algeria, the Arab athletes also won 13 silver and 14 bronze medals, a total of 34.

Dubai to open world’s tallest, largest observation wheel

The world’s largest and tallest observation wheel will be opened in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, on October 21. At 250 meters, Ain Dubai is almost twice the height of the British London Eye; it has 48 air-conditioned cabins with a 360-degree view of the emirate’s skyline. Ticket sales for the attraction are already open on the Ain Dubai website, with prices starting at AED 130 (about USD 35 at the current rate).

Camel milk chocolate launched in Brazil

This month, the Mission Chocolate brand launched a limited-edition camel milk chocolate bar. In just three weeks of sale, the brand’s founder, Arcelia Gallardo, needed to produce more to secure stock for a few more days. “We made another ‘batch’ to be able to serve customers. It was very well received and, if we have high demand, we can scale it to a larger edition,” said the chocolatière.

COVID-19: Brazil extends medicine import policies

The board of the Brazilian National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) once again extended the validity of special rules for the import of essential medication in the context of the public health emergency of the COVID-19 pandemic. Resolution 483, published this year, facilitates importing new medical devices and priority medicines defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) to respond to COVID-19.

Brazilian motorcycle gear company starts selling in Dubai

Brazilian company Circuit, one of the best-known in accessories for on-road and off-road motorcycles and bicycles, is starting to export to the Arab market in partnership with trading company International Business Group (IBG Trade), which operates in sales of products from Brazil to the United Arab Emirates and is headquartered in Dubai. The best-selling products of the company, which is about to celebrate 37 years in the market, are dozens of models of gloves and a family of grips.

Mercosul e árabes: Brasil quer retomar diálogo por acordos

The Brazilian government is interested in resuming negotiations for free trade agreements between Mercosur and Arab countries such as Morocco, Tunisia, and Lebanon. Negotiations with these countries began but have not yet been concluded. Brazil has been in the pro-tempore presidency of Mercosur since July, and the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed ANBA via e-mail in mid-August of its willingness to continue the talks.
