Egyptian fertilzer company seeks to export directly to Brazil
This Monday (5) in your ANBA Bulletin: Egyptian fertilizer company Abu Qir already exports to Brazil through intermediaries and seeks to have direct sales. The board chair of Abu Qir, Abed Ezz El-Regal, met with the regional director and office head of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in Cairo, Michael Gamal.
Ten Arab films will be screened at the Arab World Film Festival, which opened last week. After two years solely online, screenings will also take place in-person at Cinesesc, in São Paulo. Check out the Festival schedule.
The David Cury Building, in São Paulo capital city's center is under rennovation. Built in 1951 and named after the father of a Syrian immigrant from Homs, the building is now home to creative economy and social impact companies and institutions.

The Arab World Film Festival reopened its doors to in-person screenings this year. The opening of the event and the first screening took place this Wednesday (31) at CineSesc in São Paulo. The screenings occurred solely online in the two previous editions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Arab film directors will participate in online meetings organized by this year’s Arab World Film Festival, which opened this week in São Paulo. The events will be broadcast in the original language on the ICArabe YouTube channel and have interpretation into Portuguese on Zoom.

Egyptian congressman Hafez Omran visited the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) headquarters in São Paulo this Friday (2) morning. He was received by the entity’s president, Osmar Chohfi, secretary-general and CEO, Tamer Mansour, and director of Institutional Relations, Fernanda Baltazar. This was his first visit to Brazil.

The Ministry of Finance of Egypt has implemented measures to facilitate imports and avoid the accumulation of goods at ports, such as releasing cargo with completed customs procedures awaiting the financing form for imported products and waiving some fines. The measures came into force in coordination with the Central Bank of Egypt, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Transport, chambers of commerce, and shipping companies.

On the corner of Ipiranga avenue and República square, at 24 de Maio street, number 276, is the David C. Cury Building. The office building, finished in 1951, is named after its builder’s father. Alberto Cury was a Syrian immigrant who came from Homs to São Paulo and had a fabrics store on 25 de Março street. David Cury, or Daud Cury in Arabic, was a Syrian poet.

Egypt’s Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries Company, aims to increase its exports to Brazil and enter Latin American markets through direct trade, without intermediaries. The company’s board chair, Abed Ezz El-Regal, told ANBA in Cairo.

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP), the total of final goods and services produced in Brazil, grew 1.2% in the second quarter of this year compared to the previous period. The result is the fourth positive result in a row, after dropping 0.3% in the second quarter of 2021. At current rates, GDP reached BRL 2.404 trillion (about USD 466.35 billion).
