The company owned by the Rizkallah family, of Syrian origin, is about to celebrate its 120th anniversary and opens, this month, a cultural center to the general public with the exhibition Entre papéis, fotografias e objetos: o acervo de Rizkallah Jorge Tahan (Among papers, photographs and objects: the collection of Rizkallah Jorge Tahan), which will exhibit documents and other belongings of the venture's founder. Curretly, the store is managed by the founder's grandson, Mário Rizkallah.
In other news, get to know that the director of the Imperial Museum, in Rio de Janeiro, Maurício Vicente Ferreira Júnior, will speak on Brazil's monarchy period in a lecture on May 8 in Rabat, Morocco. He was invited by the Brazilian embassy in the Moroccan capital to take part in the event Protection and Conservation of the Common Cultural and Historic Heritage. The event will take place at Mohammed V University and is part of the celebrations for the Portuguese Culture and Language Day in the Arab country.
