This Thursday (30) in your ANBA Bulletin: A special report on the fertilizer market. Despite the global crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the sector stepped up its imports in April and is expected to keep growing, keeping up with the food production by the agribusiness, according to a story by journalist Thais Sousa. But uncertainties regarding some crop productions, such as maize and sugarcane, may change the scenario. And check out how Brazilian fruit producers are navigating the pandemic. In an interview with journalist Bruna Garcia, Abrafrutas reported that, since virtually no fruit is being flown, fruit exports remain via ships. Great care has been take in the field. And Brazil Arab-Countries Parliamentary Group will revolve around trade, politics-diplomacy, and technical cooperation pillars. Group launched during webinar hosted by the Arab Chamber and Fambras Halal. Arab Chamber president Rubens Hannun said there is a lot of work to do to build even tighter relations between Brazil and the Arab countries. And a story about Brazilian organic cosmetics company Cativa Natureza, which invested in an antiseptic lotion to keep selling and stand out in the market during the COVID-19 crisis. São Paulo – The fertilizer sector has grown by 3% to 4% a year throughout the last decade. And experts in the sector believe that this growth trend is expected to continue, despite the crisis caused by the global coronavirus pandemic. “We feel that agriculture will be largely unaffected by this. The demand for fertilizers [is expected to continue]; the farmers are capitalized, they have money. On average, the farmers’ situation has been good for years,” Brazilian Fertilizer Mixers Association (AMA) executive director Carlos Florence told ANBA.
