UAE's minister of Economy, Sultan Bin Said Al Mansoori, talked about Brazil during a press conference for the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM), a conference on foreign direct investments (FDI) that began this Monday (09) in Dubai, with press coverage by ANBA. The UAE minister of Economy, Sultan Bin Said Al Mansoori, said there is a lot of work to be done to drive direct investment flows between his country and Brazil. “Despite numerous visits by Brazilian leaders, we have yet to witness an impact on investment flows, from Brazil into the UAE or vice versa, from the UAE into Brazil,” Mansoori said in answering a question from ANBA during a press conference following the opening of the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM), this Monday (9) in Dubai. “Much more needs be done,” the minister added.

After economic embargoes on Sudan put in place by the United States were lifted last year, foreign direct investment flows into the African nation are progressing well, according to Sudan’s Investment minister Mubarak Al Fadil Al Mahdi, who’s in Dubai, UAE for the Annual Investment Meeting, which launched this Monday (9). “Lots of investments are coming in since the sanctions were lifted,” the minister told ANBA.

Deca, the Brazilian kitchenware and sanitaryware maker, is completing its first major project in the Arab world. Apartment complex Shams Meera is set in Abu Dhabi, the UAE, comprising 408 high-end units spanning 63 sqm to 166 sqm each, in two 26-storey towers.
Deca supplied 2,060 pieces of ceramic for bathrooms, including 650 toilet seats and 110 toilet bowls. The contract was secured in July 2017. The items got shipped at the end of the year, and the project is slated for delivery in the first half of this year.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) launched this Friday (6) a world tour designed to spread awareness about the issue of asylum. The goal is to garner support for refugees. The tour began in Jordan. According to UNHCR website, the initiative will arrive in Brazil in June with a Refugee Football Cup, to be played by groups of refugees from 16 nationalities in the cities of Porto Alegre, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
