This Monday (23) in your ANBA Bulletin: Brazilian startups bring innovative ideas and technology to agribusiness. A recent survey shows there are 1,574 agritechs in the country. Many of them, such as PW Tech and DigiFarmz, are already taking steps towards internationalization.
The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) will launch its 4.0 space this Wednesday (25), at 8:00 am BRT (11:00 am UTC), with the presence of the Brazilian Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, Marcos Pontes. The event will be broadcasted over the internet. Registration is open and free of charge.
A webinar on Thursday (26), at 5:00 pm BRT (8:00 pm UTC), will cover trade agreements, origin regulations, and digital certificates. The event celebrates the agreement signed between the ABCC and the Confederation of Commercial and Business Associations of Brazil (CACB).

Minister to participate on Arab Chamber 4.0 space launch

The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) will present next Wednesday (25), at 8:00 am BRT (11:00 am UTC), its 4.0 Space, with projects aimed at taking Brazil’s relations with the Arab countries into the technological era. The Brazilian minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MCTI), astronaut Marcos Pontes, will participate in the launching event, which will be live-streamed over the internet and is open for registration. There will be simultaneous translation into Portuguese and English.

Tribute marks opening of Arab World Film Festival

The opening ceremony of the 16th Arab World Film Festival occurred this Thursday (19) and was marked by tributes to victims of COVID-19 and reflections. The festival will premiere seven films from August 20 to September 16, 2021. The event is organized by Brazil’s Arab Culture Institute (ICArabe) and the Brazilian Social Service for Commerce (SESC) of the state of São Paulo. Arab House, the cultural center of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), is a sponsor.

In 2016, agricultural engineer Alexandre Monteiro Chequim decided, alongside his former professor Ricardo Balardin, to invest in creating an agribusiness tech company. Then was born DigiFarmz, one of the startups helping to revolutionize the fastest growing sector in the Brazilian economy, agribusiness.

Webinar to cover trade agreements and certificates

The Confederation of Trade and Business Associations in Brazil (CACB) and the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) signed an agreement to expand the issuance of certificates of origin for Brazilian exporters. To celebrate the partnership, the entities will promote next Thursday (26), at 5:00 pm BRT, the event ‘Rules of Origin: Mercosur – New Trade Agreements and the advancements of the CDO – Certificate of Digital Origin.’

Brazilian football player awarded in the UAE

Brazilian football player Igor Jesus, who plays for Shabab Al Ahli Dubai FC in the United Arab Emirates, was awarded in the Arab country this week. At age 20, he was elected best young player in the country’s national football league, Pro League UAE.
