Five Syrian refugees will arrive this Tuesday (28) in Brazil to practice and compete for a whole year at soccer team Academia de Futebol Pérolas Negras, in Paty do Alferes, Rio de Janeiro. They are four young players and a coach that were living at the Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan. The Pérolas Negras soccer team and school was created by NGO Viva Rio. “We’re a feeder team, we educate, we try to place them in the market through soccer, in the sport field or not," said Viva Rio's marketing director, Ronaldo Lapa.
