This Monday (10) in your ANBA Bulletin: food industry show SIAL Middle East kicked off today in Abu Dhabi, the UAE featuring 14 Brazilian exhibitors. The Brazilian stand was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, with the support of the Foreign Ministry and the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce. Typical products like açaí, buriti and acerola pulp, tapioca, cumari pepper from Pará and Brazil nut are on offer. The commercial director for company 100% Amazônia, Fernanda Stefani (pictured above) told Isaura Daniel – who's reporting from Abu Dhabi – that her goal at the show is to learn more about the market and to showcase different items. “To bring the flavors of the forest and their health,” she said.
And ANBA's The Arabs and Me section features the story of Hanah Mustapha Abou Arabi, the first woman in her family to become a doctor. The Lebanese descendant is a psychiatrist who specializes in anxiety disorders. “My Lebanese grandfather, Faouzi Abou Arabi, arrived in Brazil when he was 18, with USD 20 in his pocket,” Hanah told ANBA's Bruna Garcia.
