This Thursday (11) in your ANBA Bulletin: Poultry exports from Brazil slid in January 2021. Nevertheless, some Arab importers such as Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Yemen and Oman stepped up their purchases. IDEX defense show in Abu Dhabi will feature ten Brazilian companies. The event takes place in the UAE from February 21 through 25 and will demonstrate the latest defense technologies. Emirates' flights from São Paulo to Dubai will remain suspended until February 28. Flights from Dubai to São Paulo, however, will resume on Thursday (11). And the world’s biggest instant coffee producing and exporting country, Brazil shipped a record-breaking volume in 2020. Sales to Arab countries, however, were down 39%.

Emirates airline announced on Tuesday (9) that flights from São Paulo, Brazil to Dubai, United Arab Emirates will remain suspended. Flights from Dubai to São Paulo, however, will resume on Thursday (11).

The biggest instant coffee producing and exporting country in the world, Brazil shipped a record-breaking 4.1 million 60-kg bags of the product in 2020, up 2.4% from 2019, when the previous record had been achieved. Sales to Arab countries, however, were down 39% to 54,968 60-kg bags in 2020. The numbers were made public by the Brazilian Instant Coffee Industry Association Abics).

The United Arab Emirates’ Hope Probe entered Mars’ orbit on Tuesday (9), 7:42 pm, Dubai time. The feat was made public by the Dubai Media Office, which hailed the probe as the first from an Arab nation, and the fifth ever, to reach the Red Planet. The economic situation of Brazil and the Arab world in the context of the present world, the COVID-19 pandemic and the vaccine implementation, will be topic of a webinar hosted by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) on Thursday (11) at 9 am (BRT), or 3 pm (Riyadh time). As lecturers from Brazil and the Arab countries will be featured, simultaneous translation into English and Portuguese will be available.
