São Paulo – Emirates airline announced on Tuesday (9) that flights from São Paulo, Brazil to Dubai, United Arab Emirates will remain suspended. Flights from Dubai to São Paulo, however, will resume on Thursday (11).
In late January the airline announced it would suspend São Paulo-Dubai passenger services from February 1st through 10. The move was expected to be extended. But Emirates decided to resume passenger services from Dubai while keeping flights from São Paulo suspended until February 28.
In a press release published in its website, Emirates regrets the inconvenience and asks affected customers to contact their booking agent for rebooking. The company usually operates five weekly São Paulo-Dubai passenger services.
When announcing the temporary suspension, UAE’s local press reported the move was attributed to the COVID-19 situation. Brazil has recorded a new strain of coronavirus that has been a cause of concern around the world. It’s still uncertain if vaccines are effective against the new COVID-19 strains.
