Brazil donates water purifiers to Lebanon
This Monday (6) in your ANBA Bulletin: The Brazilian government donated water purifiers to Lebanon. The equipment, which runs on solar power, will be used to help the Arab country fight the cholera outbreak.

Brazil is one of the 40 laboratory product manufacturing countries that will be present at Medlab, the industry’s leading show in the Middle East and North Africa, to take place from February 6 to 9 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Five Brazilian companies will exhibit their products and services in the national pavilion, organized by the Brazilian Health Devices (BHD), the sectoral project of the Brazilian Medical Devices Manufacturers Association (ABIMO) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).

Brazil’s president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva offered his sympathy to Syria and Turkey over the earthquake that hit the two countries on Monday (6). “We’re very troubled by the news from Turkey and Syria, following a major earthquake. Brazil offers its sympathy to the peoples of the two countries, the families of the victims, and all those who lost their homes to this tragedy,” he wrote on a social media.

Brazilian company Nature Foodtech will launch a date bar with collagen at Gulfood, the biggest food and beverage show in the Middle East, to occur from February 20 to 24 in Dubai. This will be the first product of the newly-established company by businessman Davi Sierra, who claims there are no date bars with collagen on the international market. “We researched and did not find date bars with collagen worldwide, so it will be an innovative and exclusive product,” said Sierra to ANBA.

The Brazilian government donated 38 water purifiers to Lebanon; they can filter 200,000 liters a day each. The pieces of equipment will be installed in schools and hospitals and are expected to help fight the cholera outbreak faced by the Arab country, which is experiencing a severe economic crisis. The donation was delivered on Thursday (2) by the Brazilian ambassador to Beirut, Tarcísio Costa.

A Qatar-based startup focused on tourism accessibility was a winner of the Awake Tourism Challenge. Held by the UN World Tourism Organization (WTO), the challenge was the second edition of the competition focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how to contribute to the development of a more inclusive and resilient tourism sector.
