Six percent of Brazil's population have Arab background

This Thursday (23) in your ANBA Bulletin: an unprecedented survey from Ibope Inteligência and H2R Pesquisas Avançadas revealed that there are 11.6 million Arabs and Arab descendants living in Brazil. The survey was released on Wednesday (22) during an online event marking the 68th anniversary of Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC). The event also saw the ABCC announce its brand new Arab House initiative.

The survey showed that the Arab community in Brazil boasts higher average incomes and educational level than the nationwide average, and that the majority of descendants are third-generation immigrants. Ten percent of business leaders and 26% of association leaders in Brazil are Arabs or descendants thereof.

Qatar Airways will resume daily nonstop flights to Brazil on August 1. Bahrain's government has floated 45 new procurement tenders. And a report will let you know what exceptions are in place for foreigners looking to fly into Brazil.

Also featured is a report on Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (CCBB)'s Contemporary Egyptian Film Festival, starting online on July 29, with 24 films in various genres made by up-and-coming Egyptian filmmakers.
