This Thursday (27) in your ANBA Bulletin: Brazilian company Raízes do Campo brings together products from different agroecological and family farming cooperatives from Brazil. Designed to be good for consumers, growers and the environment, the company wants to take its foodstuffs to the Arab market. Brazil’s new ambassador to Cairo, Paulino Franco de Carvalho Neto, gave ANBA an interview. He will take up the post in August and spoke about his plans for Brazil-Egypt ties, from the celebration of the 100th anniversary of diplomatic ties to his desire to take Brazilian tropical wheat to the Arab country. Lecture on Lebanon to take place in São Paulo

Lebanon will be the subject of a lecture on August 3 at the Monte Libano Club theater in São Paulo. Researcher and writer Roberto Khatlab, a Brazilian who lives in the Arab country, will give the lecture “Líbano, um oásis no Oriente Médio” [“Lebanon, an oasis in the Middle East,”] from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm BRT. Admission is free, and the event is aimed at club members and guests.

Brazil’s ambassador to Egypt to take up post in August

As of August 1, diplomat Paulino Franco de Carvalho Neto will take up the post of ambassador of Brazil to Cairo, the Egyptian capital. Before traveling to the Arab country, Carvalho Neto visited the headquarters of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) in São Paulo.

The Federal District’s role in Brazilian exports

Despite being mostly known for concentrating the federal public powers in Brazil and the national capital city Brasília, the Federal District is also an exporter. Located in the Center-West region, the smallest of the country’s 27 federative units has a share in national exports with products such as poultry, soybean, aviation kerosene, sausages and beef.

Raízes do Campo plans to take agroecological goods to Arabs

Good for growers, consumers, and the environment. These are the pillars of Raízes do Campo, a company founded in 2019 aimed at centralizing several agroecological and family farming cooperatives across Brazil around one brand. Grape juice from Rio Grande do Sul, coffee from Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo, and chocolate from Bahia are just some of the products of the agroecological brand.

Brazil’s tourism sector reported highest revenue since 2014

Tourism in Brazil had, in 2023, the highest revenue for May since 2014, announced this Tuesday (25) the Brazilian National Confederation of Goods Trade, Services, and Tourism (CNC). Revenue totaled BRL 36.1 billion (about USD 7.51 billion at the current rate), with an 8.6% expansion from the same month last year and 4% compared to April this year.
