Arab Brazilian Chamber turns 69 in transformation

This Monday (5) in your ANBA Bulletin: The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) turned 69 years old last Friday (2). In a video message, ABCC president Osmar Chohfi discussed the advanced, innovative projects being carried out by the institution.

Coffee Coin, the world’s first coffee-backed cryptocurrency, has been launched by Brazil’s major coffee cooperative Minasul. The currency could be an investment option for foreigners.

And two events on the Arab world will take place later this week: The seminar “United for Lebanon” and the webinar on the logistics and transport of goods between Brazil and the Arab countries. They’ll both take place on Tuesday (6), and registration is open to watch them online.

Co-op launches world’s first coffee-backed cryptocurrency

Major Brazil-based coffee cooperative Minasul has launched the world’s first coffee-backed cryptocurrency. The currency premiered on Thursday (1) and has been negotiated on specialty platform Exchange Stonoex. Each Coffee Coin is worth a kilogram of commodity green coffee.

Arab Brazilian Chamber reaches 69 years in transformation

The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) turns 69 this Friday, July 2, 2021, in a transformation process. To mark the date, the institution released a video with its president, Osmar Chohfi, about the modernization that the ABCC is undergoing. Chohfi retired from his diplomatic career, during which he became secretary-general of Brazilian Foreign Affairs, and took over the organization in April this year.

Brazilians sell USD 1 million at Arab dentistry show

Brazilian companies that participated as exhibitors at the International Dental Conference & Arab Dental Exhibition (AEEDC) in Dubai closed USD 1 million in deals during the show, returning home with a prospect for another USD 6 million in sales for the next 12 months. The information was released to ANBA by the Projects and International Marketing manager at the Brazilian Medical Devices Manufacturers Association (ABIMO), Larissa Gomes (pictured above), who participated in the show.

‘United for Lebanon’ seminar open for registration

To discuss challenges and opportunities in logistics and transportation of goods between Brazil and the Arab countries and the role of the Suez Canal shipping route, the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) will host a webinar next Tuesday, July 6, at 9:00 am (BRT), 2:00 pm (EET/EGY), with Brazilian and Arab sector experts. The event will be in English with Arab and Portuguese translation; it will last one hour and 40 minutes and is free. Registration is open.

Halal ensures food safety

Halal certification is a way to ensure food safety, according to Ali Zoghbi (pictured above), vice president of the Federation of Muslim Associations of Brazil (FAMBRAS). He lectured this Thursday, July 1, during the course ‘The Islamic World – Opportunities and challenges for Brazilian agribusiness in a post-pandemic scenario.’ This was the third module of the program and addressed the theme ‘Islamic World – Halal Products: Concept, Reliability, and Certification.’
