Brand brings Lebanese ice cream to Braizl
This Monday (20) in your ANBA Bulletin: An ice cream parlor Bachir opened in the neighborhood of Moema in São Paulo, Brazil. The chain has 50 stores in Lebanon and France and is now present in Brazil as well. Typical flavors from the Mediterranean like dates and apricots can be found in the ice creams. The falcon, a common pet in many Arab countries, is present in Brazil. According to a survey, peregrine falcons are spread across the country. And Brazilian film nights will be hosted in Ramallah, Palestine, starting June 29. The first movie to be screened will be The Cambridge Squatter.

The presence of falcons on Brazilian soil was assessed in a survey conducted exclusively over the internet. Undergraduate student Louise Mamedio Schneider and her advisor, Professor Erika Hingst Zaher, had the collaboration of bird watchers, expert illustrators such as Fredy Pallinger, and a range of images made available on the Wikiaves platform.

The first film to be screened will be The Cambridge Squatter, a documentary by Eliane Caffé.

The global displacement of people forced to flee their homes hit another record, capping a decade-long rising trend. According to UN Refugee Agency UNHCR’s annual Global Trends report, the number of people that had to flee their homes stands at the highest level since records began. “A trend that can be only reversed by a new, concerted push towards peacemaking,” UNHCR said.

The International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth (IPC-IG) is carrying out a project to map social protection responses to the COVID-19 crisis in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The IPC-IG is an organization created from an agreement between the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the federal government of Brazil to contribute to public policies to foster development.
