Brazil wants a top position in wheat market

This Thursday (21) in your ANBA Bulletin: Brazil is a wheat importer but works toward self-sufficiency and a higher availability for exports, Jorge Lemainsky, the general head at state crop research agency Embrapa Wheat, told ANBA.

Researchers at Embrapa developed a new phosphate fertilizer in partnership with a German center. The product is able to increase soybean biomass by up to ten times compared to conventional fertilizers.

Brazilian entrepreneur Maria Eduarda Becker has launched a plant milk in Gulf markets. She is the founder of United Arab Emirates-based coffee brand Três Marias and is launching the new beverage to tap into the budding market.

And an online course on ethics and business with Muslim consumers will start on August 17, held by CNA and Fambras.

Diogo Bercito launches novel set in Syria and Brazil

Brazilian journalist and writer Diogo Bercito will launch his debut novel Vou sumir quando a vela se apagar next Thursday (21) at 7 pm (BRT) in the Megafauna bookstore at the Copan building in São Paulo, Brazil. The event will feature Folha de S.Paulo’s journalist and podcaster Chico Felitti, who’ll have a chat about the book with Bercito, followed by a book signing.

Brazilian scientists introduce new phosphate fertilizer

Researchers from the Instrumentation unit of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) teamed up with scientists from the German institute Forschungszentrum Jülich to develop a new type of phosphate fertilizer. The product was tested in Brazilian soybean crops and can increase biomass by up to 10 times compared to conventional fertilization systems.

Brazil’s WEG announces joint venture with Algeria’s Cevital

Brazilian company WEG announced this Monday (18) the signing of binding documents to form a joint venture with CevitalGroup from Algeria to produce and sell electric motors for washing machines. WEG is a global engine manufacturing company based in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. The joint venture will initially focus on the North African market, including Algeria.

Brazilian Citizens Council created in Egypt

The Council of Brazilian Citizens in Egypt was formalized in November last year by the Brazilian ambassador to Cairo, Antonio Patriota, and has already held three meetings to date. According to councilor Tatiana Hafez, it works as a bridge between the Brazilian Embassy in Cairo and the Brazilian community in the Arab country. An embassy representative informed that, for the time being, the Council operates informally, but once consolidated, it will be institutionalized.
