São Paulo – The emirate of Dubai launched earlier this week a strategy to become one the world’s top 10 metaverse economies as well as a global hub for the metaverse community, state news agency WAM reported.
The strategy aims at attracting companies in the fields of blockchain and metaverse, promoting Dubai’s ambitions to support more than 40,000 virtual jobs by 2030, and increasing the number of blockchain companies by five times the present number.
The recently launched strategy’s pillars focus on fostering innovation, enhancing the metaverse’s economic contributions, fostering talent and investing in future capabilities by providing the necessary support in education, and supporting the development of technology and applications to create new governmental work models.
The plan was launched by Dubai’s crown prince Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in line with the directives of Dubai ruler and United Arab Emirates vice president and prime minister Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
