This Monday (18) in your ANBA Bulletin: the first-ever Brazilian-led archaeological crew in Egypt found an unheard-of tomb during the excavation season in Luxor this year. The chamber containing seven bodies was encountered while the crew was studying Theban Tomb 123. “We were focusing on the external structure of TT 123. There was a well on the patio and that led to the finding of a new tomb,” said crew coordinator José Roberto Pellini, a professor at the Anthropology and Archaeology Department of the School of Philosophy and Human Sciences at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). According to him, the structure probably dates back to the Third Intermediate Period of late Pharaonic History.
And the Center for Studies in Antiquity at the Rio de Janeiro State University (NEA-Uerj) is offering a course in hieroglyphics on Saturdays starting March 23. The program Hieróglifos: Curso de Língua Egípcia will be taught by professor Liliane Coelho, who holds a doctorate in History from the Fluminense Federal University (UFF).
And a pop-up shop offering Brazilian fashion brands is now open at Galerie Lafayette, in the UAE's Dubai Mall. The outlet will be there for two months, featuring items by eight brands: Amir Slama, Karla Vivian, Guria Beachwear, Salinas, Água de Coco por Liana Thomaz, Cecilia Prado e Sinesia Karol.
