Arab Brazilian Chamber launches solidarity campaign

This Monday (29) in your ANBA Bulletin: The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) launched a new solidarity campaign last Thursday, 25, the Arab Community Day in Brazil. Last year the organization gave supplies to hospitals and institute to help fight COVID-19 and now aims at assisting hungry people.

Brazilians had their trajectories influenced by members of the Arab colony or the Arab countries. In recorded testimonies, they spoke during last week's online event of the Arab Community Day in Brazil. Immigrants and descendants also made statements.

The Suez Canal in Egypt was reopened after the stranded ship refloated and freed the waterway. The canal authorities took several measures to help freeing the vessel.

And Brazilian development bank BNDES president Gustavo Montezano had a virtual meeting with Arab officials and businesspeople to discuss investment opportunities in Brazil.

A series of personal and professional testimonies on this influence were presented on Thursday, March 25, the Arab Community Day in Brazil, during an online event hosted by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) and the Arab House.

UAE firm to produce COVID-19 vaccines

United Arab Emirates-based Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries (Julphar), based in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, will start the commercial production of COVID-19 vaccines in April 2021. In a statement submitted to Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, the company confirmed that it has entered into an agreement with G42 Medication Trading to produce the vaccines from China’s Sinopharm. The UAE vaccine will be called Hayat-Vax.

Ship refloated, freeing Suez Canal

The ship that had blocked the Suez Canal for the past seven days, clogging up one of the world’s key trade arteries, was refloated on Monday, 29, as the result of maneuvers freeing the waterway. The canal is located in Egypt, an North African Arab country, and is the shortest shipping route between Europe and Asia. A strong noon tide helped a fleet of tugboats wrench free the vessel.
