Brazil Cosmecêutico to open office in Dubai

 | São Paulo – Brazil Cosmetics, a hair cosmetics company out of Praia Grande, São Paulo which specializes in straightening products, is opening an international office in Dubai, UAE by next June. In business for seven years, the company got its start by selling to Egypt – which remains its primary market. Presently, it supplies all Arab countries, which account for a combined 75% of Brazil Cosmetics’ exports.

Arab Chamber, USEK advance on project about immigration

 | São Paulo – The director at Latin American Studies and Cultures Center (LASCC) at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK), Roberto Khatlab, has met with Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce leaders in São Paulo to advance on the Digitization Project of the Memory of Syrian and Lebanese Immigration in Brazil, which was launched by the two institutes around two years ago. USEK is a Lebanese university.

Brazil exports more beef to Saudis and less to Egypt
| |
 | São Paulo – Brazil exported 56% less beef to Egypt and more to the Saudis last February from a year ago. Egypt figured as the Brazilian product’s fourth largest importer, purchasing 11,827 tonnes in February. As for Saudi Arabia, the fifth largest importer, it purchased 8,425 tonnes of beef from Brazil, up 20.6% year-on-year.

Algeria identifies strategic areas for promotion of exports

Ore the biggest import product for Bahrain

 | São Paulo – Iron ore was the most imported product to Bahrain in January, the Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported this week. Apart from non-agglomerated iron ores and concentrates, top import items include aluminum oxide, in second, and four-wheel drive cars, in third.

Exhibition evokes memories of home in Syria

 | São Paulo – Interactive exhibit “Em Casa, no Brasil” (At Home, In Brazil), by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is open and free of charge at Sesc Piracicaba, in Piracicaba, São Paulo, up until March 8. Visitors can see a refugee camp housing unit and check out testimonials by thirteen refugees, from nine different countries, who found a new home in Brazil.
