The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is open for applications to nominate candidates for the UNESCO-Sharjah Prize for Arab Culture. Awarded since 2001, the prize was instituted in collaboration with the government of Sharjah, one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates, and is now in its 18th edition. Last year, Brazilian historian Silvia Antibas, cultural director at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, was one of the awarded.

Majid Al Futtaim is a group from the United Arab Emirates that owns and operates shopping malls and retail and leisure businesses in the Middle East and North Africa, including supermarkets under the Carrefour brand.

The Central Bank of Bahrain on Thursday (27) issued a circular to all retail banks and finance companies to provide the option of postponing loan repayments. The option to defer loan repayments for an additional period of six months applies to all individuals and companies until December 31, 2021.
