This Monday (29) in your ANBA Bulletin: Brazilian exports to the Arab countries grew. From January to October this year, exports from Brazil increased by 26%, driven by sales of iron ore, soybeans, and poultry protein.
Saudi Arabia will allow direct entry of Brazilians and people from five other countries into its territory as of December 1. Marcus Abraham Mubarack, a tattoo artist of Arab descent, is also a history scholar and prints references to his ancestors in his work.

Middle Eastern history tattooed on the skin

Tattooing artworks inspired by aesthetics and the history of Islamic and Arab art and Middle East folk culture has been Marcus Abraham Mubarack’s occupation since 2013. The artist of Arab descent who lives in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sull decided to print on his skin the themes he has been curious about since he was little. “I studied History and Anthropology in college. I didn’t graduate, but I’ve always been extremely attached to it,” recalled the tattoo artist.

Rio-born scholar devotes career to tell history of Sudan

A career dedicated to the history of Sudan. That is the professional path taken by Patricia Teixeira Santos. Holding a PhD in History from Fluminense Federal University (UFF), she has researched and produced knowledge on the African Arab country since 1997. Now she is an associate professor of Africa History in the History Department of the Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp) and a researcher affiliated with institutions based in Portugal, France and India.

Exports from Brazil to Arab countries up 26%

Brazil stepped up by 26% its exports to Arab countries year to date through October 2021 from a year ago, the Market Intelligence Department of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) reported. Revenue from sales reached USD 11.5 billion from USD 9.1 billion a year ago.

Saudi Arabia to lift ban on entry of Brazilians

The government of Saudi Arabia will lift the ban on the entry of foreigners from six countries into its territory, including Brazil. Direct access of people from Brazil, Indonesia, Pakistan, Egypt, India, and Vietnam was barred; to halt the spread of COVID-19 in the Arab country. The lift will come into effect next Wednesday, December 1, according to information from the Saudi newspaper Arab News website.

The Brazilian minister of Foreign Affairs, Carlos França, will receive this Thursday (25) in Brasília the minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud. A possible visit by Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro to Saudi Arabia in the first half of next year was discussed this Thursday (25) at a meeting between the minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud, and the Brazilian chancellor, Carlos França. Al Saud is visiting Brazil and met with França.

During a Cabinet meeting, the Egyptian Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Hala El-Saeed, reviewed the preliminary indicators of Egypt’s economic performance in the first quarter (Q1) of fiscal year 2021/2022. Egypt’s FY starts in July and ends in June, so Q1 ran from July through September.
