COVID fast-tracks food security policies

This Thursday (1st) in your ANBA Bulletin: The COVID-19 pandemic fast-tracked the food security policies and fueled the desire to produce food locally. But specialists say that structuring out domestic food production is complex, and that geography, climate and costs are challenges.

Kuwait’s emir dies at 91

Kuwait’s state-run news agency KUNA confirmed this Tuesday (29) that the emir, sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah (pictured above) has died at age 91. He had a 14-year stint as emir. Prior to that, he had been responsible for Kuwait’s foreign policy for over 50 years. A 40-day mourning period has been declared, and all government offices will remain closed for three days.

Saudi Arabia suspends air travel from Brazil

Saudi Arabia suspended air travel to and from India, Brazil and Argentina, Gulf News reported quoting the Saudi Civil Aviation Authority. The decision is intended to curb the spread of Covid-19. People having traveled to one of those three countries will not be allowed into Saudi Arabia in the 14 days following their trips.
