This Wednesday in your ANBA Bulletin (2): ambassador and former Foreign Minister Antonio Patriota (pictured, on the left) visited the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in São Paulo. He will take post at the Embassy of Brazil in Cairo, Egypt this week, and has pledged to prioritize trade. “The whole agenda of partnership in economy and trade is very promising right now, with the entry into force of the Mercosur-Egypt [free trade] agreement in 2017,” he told Isaura Daniel. Patriota has been an ambassador to Washington DC, Rome, and the United Nations.
Three Brazilian companies are exhibiting at the Watch & Jewellery Middle East Show, taking place until next Saturday (5) in Sharjah, UAE. They are: Avergara, owned by designer Juliana Vergara Aldrighi; Pravi Design, owned by designer Mariana Clas Astolphi; and the independent designer Débora Ioschpe. Their participation is an initiative of foreign trade company ALM Brazil, whose Brazil Atmosphere project promotes Brazilian products in other countries.
Governor Mauro Carlesse of Tocantins, Brazil signed a memorandum of understanding with investment promotion agency Dubai FDI. A delegation from the northern Brazilian state that’s in the UAE for the Dubai Investment Week made a visit to the Arab Chamber’s international office in the emirate.
And Arab Chamber secretary-general Tamer Mansour gave a lecture to footwear industry executives this Wednesday.
