Tour operators to promote tourism to Tunisia
This Friday (30) in your ANBA Bulletin: Brazilian tour operators are pulling their efforts together to promote Tunisia as a destination. A meeting to discuss the topic took place earlier this week at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC). Jordan’s customs authority received training from the ABCC Technology & Innovation team to use digital customs clearance system Easy Trade in Brazilian exports to Jordan. São Paulo-based porcelain tile firm Villagres Cerâmica received a quality certification from Saudi Arabia to export to the country. And Brazil’s Lurdiana Tejas has become a celebrity in Egypt after her belly dancing work become well known.

Brazil participated in a show in the United Arab Emirates which focused on one of the great topics on the global agenda: Technology and the environment. The Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX), which took place together with the Dubai Solar Show, had a stand of Brazilian company WEG and was visited by representatives of the Brazilian Embassy to the UAE and the offices of the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) and Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) in the Gulf country. The show occurred from Tuesday (27) to this Thursday (29) in Dubai.

Porcelain tile company Villagres Cerâmica, based in Santa Gertrudes, São Paulo, is the first Brazilian company in the industry to get the quality certificate by Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) to be able to export to the Arab country.

Brazilian Lurdiana Tejas (pictured above), born in the city of Porto Velho, in the state of Rondônia, is 34 years old and, two years ago, became a celebrity in Egypt, an Arab country in North Africa. In October 2020, the belly dancer appeared in a video performing spontaneously, without makeup or costumes, at a Cairo beauty salon. The post went viral and reached almost 20 million views. Success continued to accompany the Brazilian in the Arab country; today, she has 2.5 million followers on Instagram and 331,500 on Tiktok.

The city of Rio de Janeiro will host later this week the event Cultura Conecta: Museus e Escolas [Culture Connects: Museums and Schools] to take place at the Museum of Tomorrow and will feature speakers such as Josélia Neves, a professor and associate dean at Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Qatar. The technology and Innovation team of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) is in Amman, Jordan, to train the country’s customs authority on the Easy Trade system, which allows customs clearance to be processed fully in digital format. The ABCC is represented by CEO & secretary-general Tamer Mansour, Technology and Innovation director Marcos Bulgarelli, and Business analyst Laércio dos Santos.

Brazilian actress Beth Goulart (pictured above) visited the headquarters of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) in the capital city of São Paulo this Wednesday (28) to learn more about the institution’s women’s committee, WAHI – Women Who Inspire. In addition to being an actress, Beth is a playwright and singer and is engaged in the causes of Brazilian female entrepreneurship. She is a member of the Women of Brazil Group [Grupo Mulheres do Brasil], through which she had contact with ABCC’s women’s committee.

Pope Francis, the supreme pontiff and head of the Roman Catholic Church, will visit Bahrain from November 3 to 6, according to a release by the Holy See’s press office this Wednesday (28). Spending by foreign tourists in Brazil from January to July this year amounted to more than USD 2.7 billion (about BRL 14.5 billion at today’s exchange rate), 84% higher than the amount recorded in the same period last year (USD 1.5 billion).
