São Paulo – The Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) will host a series of international events in the second half of the year. Among these events are the Middle East Online B2Bs to be held from August 23 to September 3 between Brazilian exporters and importers from the region. Interested companies can register until July 9.
The event is part of the Brazilian Footwear export incentive program, carried out by Abicalçados alongside the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil). Sixteen other actions at the international level are scheduled, involving buyers from other regions such as the Americas (pictured above).
The event focused on the Middle East will be virtual, with buyers from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman. “As in the previous [B2Bs], we will have matchmaking, the crossing between offers from the participants and bids from the buyers. It is a very assertive tool in relation to business,” said Paola Pontin, trade promotion analyst at Abicalçados.
The chief executive at Abicalçados, Haroldo Ferreira, believes that shoe exports should grow this year with vaccination progress. According to data from Abicalçados, in May this year, an increase was already seen. In the month, 8.77 million pairs were shipped, generating USD 65.2 million in revenue. The data demonstrates a 223% growth in volume and 172.8% in revenue compared to the same month in 2020.
