São Paulo – The ABC Brazil bank, a subsidiary of the Arab Banking Corporation, headquartered in Bahrain, announced last Thursday (7th) that it has begun supplying funding to healthcare institutions.
According to information provided by its press office, the bank signed an agreement with the Brazilian Ministry of Health so as to be able to grant credit to hospitals, clinics, houses of mercy and laboratories, based on revenues that the organizations are eligible to collect from the Unified Healthcare System (SUS).
By means of the operation, the institution may collect, in the form of an advanced payment from the bank, the value to be received by the government, and then pay for the funding in up to 36 months. According to a release issued by the bank, the money can be used as the borrowing institution judges best, be it as working capital, payment to suppliers, improvement, equipment purchase, employee wages, etc.
The release underscores, however, that the value of the instalments cannot exceed 30% of what the company is eligible to receive from the SUS. ABC Brazil is a multiple bank that operates mainly with medium-sized clients.
The SUS is a program, funded by public capital, that grants the Brazilian population universal, free-of-charge access to different medical services. The system enables users to be treated in private institutions.
