São Paulo – The UAE’s Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD) is hosting a webinar at 9 am next Tuesday (28) to present the opportunities and advantages available to Brazilian businesses in the UAE and at its own facilities.
The webinar “New opportunities for Brazilian businesses in the Middle East and UAE” will be free of charge, and slots are limited. Previous registration is required (link available at the end of this story). KIZAD (pictured above) is a member company of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), which is a partner in hosting the online event.
An Abu Dhabi Ports subsidiary, KIZAD purports to be the biggest industrial zone in the Middle East and North Africa. It spans 410 sqm, hosting companies in industries including foodstuffs, polymers, metals, automobiles, pharmaceuticals, logistics, and oil and gas. Connectivity is available by sea, land and air, with additional railway connections in the plans. Set-up costs are low, according to KIZAD.
The Tuesday webinar will feature a welcome address from KIZAD CEO Samir Chaturvedi and opening remarks from Industrial Zone Cluster head Abdullah Al Hameli. Abu Dhabi Investment Office director general Tariq Bin Hendi, will discuss Abu Dhabi’s economic diversification initiatives. KIZAD commercial director Khalid Al Marzooqi will present new opportunities for Brazilian businesses in the Middle East and the UAE.
The ABCC’s International Relations vice-president Osmar Chohfi and secretary-general and CEO Tamer Mansour will be featured. Chohfi will make introductory remarks, and Mansour will discuss the current stage of Brazil-UAE trade. KIZAD Commercial VP Edwin Lammers will host an open forum and debate.
Some Brazilian companies are already operating from KIZAD, including BRF, which processes food products to distribute throughout the region. Brazil-UAE bilateral trade averages USD 3 billion a year, with exchange also going strong in other related fields. There are over 10,000 Brazilians living and working in the UAE.
