São Paulo – The photo exhibit “About Women,” which ran from January 21st to February 9th in Amman, Jordan, opens on Tuesday (8th) at São Paulo’s Verve Galeria. It features work by Brazilian photographers who portray the female universe. The curator is Ivana Panizzi, the Brazilian ambassadress to Jordan.
The show will launch on International Women’s Day with pictures by 18 photographers. According to the organizers, the photos portray motherhood, loneliness, mother-child relationships, domestic life, freedom, and violence against women, among other subjects.
The project is the brainchild of Renato Negrão, a photographer and a professor at art school Escola Panamericana de Artes. The featured photographers are Alessandra Yoradjian, Aline Baía, Ana Rodrigues, Camila Gil, Carol França, Eli Criva, Giselle Bohnen, Giuliana Camargo, Hérika Bauer, Isa Godoy, Juliana Silvestre, Luka Fernandez, Marcela Marchini, Mônica Assan, Mari Cüry, Sandra Audujas, Vanessa Dutra and Valérie Mesquita.
