São Paulo – This Monday (29), the day after Jair Bolsonaro was elected the new president of Brazil, the North American currency climbed 1.51% to BRL 3.7068. In the morning, the dollar value was dropping 0.35%, reaching BRL 3.642 around noon.
The Ibovespa, the main index of the São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa), ended the day down 2.24% to 83,796 points, reversing the uptrend earlier in the day, when it had climbed 0.78%. The shares of the main companies followed the main index, with Petrobras going down 4.67%, Vale dropping 4.5%, and Itaú and Bradesco going down 2.02% and 2.32%, respectively.
