São Paulo – Gross Agricultural Production (GAP) in Brazil should be R$ 463.3 billion (US$ 146.4 billion), as per an estimate released this Tuesday (14th) by the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply. Crops should gross R$ 295.1 billion (US$ 93.2 billion), down 1.8% from last year. The GAP for livestock production should be R$ 168.1 billion (US$ 53.1 billion), up 2.2%.
According to the ministry, the products that drove the crops result were maize, rice, oranges and sugarcane. For livestock, beef production was the highlight product, up 9.4% from 2014. Eggs and pork revenues have also increased this year, but poultry and milk production has declined.
